  1. Yeah Thanks 2Stroke . I spoke to the local Gas Gas dealer and he basically said they had "quality issues" with the thermostats and that failure rates were quite high. Apparently its quite common! The correct operating temp range according to him was between 85-90 deg C. So mine was clearly knackered & i bought a new one, which will hopefully sort the problem once fitted.
  2. Hi All - Some thermostat advice Please! I've recently bought a 07 Txt pro 300 and have been through it, so its ready for trial. However, i found the fan had been hardwired - bypassing the Thermostat (so the the fan was constantly on when the bike was running). I tested the thermostat in boiling water for continuity and this seemed fine, so i rewired the fan circuit as it should be with the Thermostat connected. When the bike is started from cold and the fan comes on literally within 30 seconds, and stays on until the ignition is cut. I tested the rectifier and this seems fine and the water pump (again fine), so i retested the thermostat with a temperature probe and found that it works but it creates a circuit (on) at around 38 deg C, then is open circuit (off) at around 34 deg C. I'm assuming the Thermostat is faulty as i would expect this to create a circuit at around 90-95 deg C - Right? Its my 1st GasGas so just checking it isn't some special low temperature switch (for low speed riding to ensure airflow through the rad etc) - and that i need a new thermostat? Apologies if this seems like a daft question! TIA
