  1. Hi, some additional info. No 9 is not a Rectifier, It is a 12v regulator which bleeds any voltage from the stator winding that is over 12v to earth. therefore the lights etc are fed 12v AC current. No 11 is a Rectifier which rectifies the 12v AC to 12v DC to feed the fan. Note the Thermostat in the cylinder head when switched will provide the earth to both this rectifier and the fan. Kill switch is fitted to the white from the CDI in the same connector as the green to the coil. I modded the fan system as below using modern electronics as all were cream crackered. Used a 12v regulator from Electrex world (replacing No 9 on above diagram) https://www.electrexworld.co.uk/acatalog/RG12.html#SID=990 Used a Leonelli fan rectifier from Splat Shop for the fan 12v feed. https://www.splatshop.co.uk/gasgas-fan-rectifier-regulator.html Used a 2 pole thermostat to mimic modern wiring diagrams for Gas Gas fan. Switches on at 65 degrees so fan comes on sooner. Original was a 16mm thread and switched at 77 degrees. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-M16-Radiator-Thermal-Fan-Switch-Thermostat-For-250cc-Water-Cooled-ATV-Scooter/111851998808?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITand_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Wired as below. I hope this info is of help to someone in future, as it took a bit of figuring out. Sorry for the scruffy bit of drawing. Cheers, Andy
  2. Hi, found a wiring diagram for this model. Putting here for info. I needed to get them fan system working but parts are unavailable so have modified using modern parts. Will post details on modifications Cheers.
  3. Hi, Finally found a wiring diagram for this model. Will start a new thread for info. Ta
  4. Hi, I just spoke to Bradford Ignitions in the UK. He has confirmed that the White from the CDI is the kill switch wire and just needs a kill button to earth. Hope this info is of use to others. Cheers.
  5. Hi, So your thinking is by breaking the earth circuit I can kill the ignition. That may work but the earth wire has a ring connector on it and is fixed to the coil mounting so that is unlikely to be the standard method. I believe the common way to wire a kill switch is to simply short the low tension coil feed to earth. The coil is a normal one, not one with circuitry built in, so will probably be 3 or 5 ohms only. I am just wary of shorting anything in case I blow the CDI and would prefer if someone could tell me the correct original method. There is very little info on the internet for the 311 1992 montesa. It seems to be different from other models and was maybe a stop gap before the honda engine ones appeared? Thanks for your reply. Cheers.
  6. Hi, I need to fit a kill switch to this model but don't want to just short a random wire to earth until I get confirmation from someone. The stator has four wires going to the CDI unit as a group in one connector. These are Light blue, Blue, White, Black. The CDI then has two other wires in one connector. Green - To coil. White - Not connected but I hope its the kill switch wire? There is also a green/yellow earth wire from CDI to the coil earth. Can anyone tell me which wire or wires are connected to their kill switch please? Hope someone can help, Cheers.
