  9. Take off the brake lever and make sure the needle roller bearing that it mounts on hasn't seized. That happened to mine . I managed to save replacement by soaking in WD40 and then re-greasing. Hope this helps. Phil
  10. On our six hour journey back from a job that should have only taken three hours ( thanks M25 closure )!! Myself and my son got onto the subject of floating discs on trials bikes ( and no doubt others as well )when my son asked ' why do trials bikes have floating disc instead of bolting firmly to the hub ' ? I had never thought of this so didn't have an answer despite trying to reason it out . So that is the question gents , why do trials bikes have floating disc instead of bolting firmly to the hub ? Thanks Phil

  14. Just thought I would report my experience with my clutch. The only reason I changed the plates was because they started slipping. So with my new plates , I did the clutch fix that Dan explains in great length on this forum. My clutch didn't drag at all previously but with the new plates altered as Dan explains, the difference is astounding!! It's now smoother than before with more 'feel', it doesn't seem to 'clunk' now between gear changes so all in all I'm well pleased !! Thanks Dan for your efforts !! Brilliant !! Phil

  20. The adjustment of the lever etc. is correct so I have ordered new fibre plates .It has been getting progressively worse recently so it is more than likely due a new set. When they arrive I shall also purchase a dremil and do the clutch fix although I didn't have any problems before it started slipping , but with the new plates it might rear it's ugly head and start dragging when cold ( had a sherco that used to do this !! very scary at times !! ) Thanks to all for the advice Phil

    Evo Clutch

I have an Evo 250 2010 and the clutch has now started to slip, so I am going to order a new set of fibre plates and hopefully this should solve the problem . Does anybody know if I should order a new set of springs as well to be on the safe side or not bother ? Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully accepted. Thanks Phil
  22. Jesus !! I could do better at the trial in that than on my Beta !! Phil
  23. That may be your problem !! If I am wrong somebody is bound to say but, I put 62.5 ml two stroke oil to 5 ltr of high octane fuel. I think this gives a mixture of 80 / 1 To put it simply, to much oil means LESS fuel and therefore a weak mixture which could cause the pinking. That was the way it was explained to me , if that is wrong it wasn't me your honour !! Phil
  24. Does anyone know how much two stroke oil I need to put in my sons KTM 200 exc 2008. I will be using PJ1 synthetic oil if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance Phil
