Those two model Sherpa T you mention use a circumferential clamp at the top ends of the fork tubes that is fastened with 6mm bolts.

Your Mk4 Lobito was made around the time where some Bultaco models had circumferential top clamps and some models had a cone (tapered) shape to the top end of the fork tubes that fitted into a matching conical hole in the top clamp.

For you to be able to interchange fork tubes the fastening method for the top end of both needs to be the same

Cheers mate . Very useful info !

  2. I know there are a lot of posts here about bultaco clutch but I just can't seem to get it 100%

it seems to engage as when I have it pulled there is no compression .

When i go into first it wants to pull away abit , normal ? Once I'm in first it's hard to get back into neutral and when I have it in gear  and clutch pulled in the bike doesn't roll freely really hard to push and there's a squeek coming from the magneto side of the engine . Any suggestions ? Have to adjust the screw right up to pushrod to even get it to engage at all ...

  3. Looking for recommendations on what to fit on my exhaust . I have the central silencer which I am re packing but I am missing the "petaca" triangle shaped silencer off the end of my Lobito mk4 exhaust . Has anyone got any advise on a modern alternative that would look good and do the same job . Can't find many for sale and the ones that are are very expensive . Just need an extra silencer as to pass my ITV (spanish MOT) or would just the middle be enough ???

  4. Hi , my lobito mk4 has been in the garden awaiting and engine to go back in . Meanwhile without having done anything apart from drain the oil taken the springs out to check them and replaced the oil , one of the forks is spewing out oil from the dust cover even when the bike is not being moved ? Any ideas ? Could be due to heat . It's pretty hot here in Mallorca. Any help ?

  5. Hi , I'm trying to figure out how to set the clutch arm further back . I know that I can adjust the screw and nut but I want to set the part that the clutch cable attaches to further back as it just moves freely and according to photos Irma should be further back ... any ideas ? Lobito mk4
