  1. Thank you. Just to clarify. I’ve attached a picture. The way the needle jet is in this picture would be wrong?
  2. Cleaned carb and turned air screw in 1/8. Same thing happened when starting however it wasn’t as severe and it went away a lot quicker so I’ll leave it as it is as it’s perfect when warm. Thanks
  3. Thank you! Cleaned carb and pilot jet today as well as turning air screw in 1/8. Same problem occurred however it went away a lot quicker today. No issues whatsoever when warm so I’ll leave it as it is!
  4. Great, thank you. Cleaned the carb out and blew air through pilot jet today. Turned the screw 1/8th in also. The same thing happened again after I started it but disappeared a lot quicker so I’ll leave it at that.
  5. Yes, only occurs when starting from cold. I’ll give it an 8th of a turn in when I take the carb off later. Almost impossible to adjust the air screw without spinning the carb around! Thank you
  6. Thanks! I cleaned the carb recently so I’ll take it apart and check it again tomorrow. I was planning on replacing the air filter and cleaning out the air box soon so I’ll do that tomorrow too, to make sure no crap could get into the carb. Makes sense that it would be the pilot jet since it idles perfectly but as soon as I touch the throttle it bogs. What I find strange is why it doesn’t do it when I rev up from idle when warmed up?
  7. Thank you. I’ve recently taken the carb apart and cleaned it. I thought I blew enough air etc through everything to clear it properly but I might have missed a bit. I’ll take it off and give the pilot jet a good jet of air. What Ifind strange is why it doesn’t do it when I rev up from idlewhen warmed up?
  8. Hi there. I have a Beta Rev 3 2008 with KEIHIN carb. The bike starts great with the choke. The second I touch the throttle it bogs down and dies. As soon as it’s slightly warm I can turn the throttle fully open quickly and it’ll bog for a second and spring to life. No problem whatsoever when warm. Could this be a fuel issue? Maybe need a slight adjustment to the air screw? Thanks

    KEIHIN carb settings

Thanks for your answer. Beta say to adjust needle height to notch 5 and a max 1 turn out on air screw. This would usually make it run too rich? So that’s why the jetting is leaner? Thanks
  10. Hi there, can anyone tell me what these numbers mean? I know they’re jet sizes but how do you interpret them? Also, has anyone got a Rev 3 from 2008, if so, how have you set up your carb? Thanks 125 Min 50 - Max 115 250-270 Min 48 - Max 110

Hi there, can anyone tell me what these numbers mean? I know they’re probably jet sizes but how do you interpret them? Thanks 125 Min 50 - Max 115 250-270 Min 48 - Max 110
  12. Starts and rides very nice without touching the choke. I’ve only had issues when using the choke. I’ll use a little choke if it doesn’t want to start from now on, other than that I won’t bother with it. Thanks for the advice
  13. I’ll check the fuel cock but that’s about as far as I could go at the moment. I’ll check the cock and the throttle body/cable and if it’s nothing to do with them I’ll take it to someone else. Thank you
  14. Started first kick tonight without the choke on. What does this indicate?
  15. Going to check the entire throttle cable etc tomorrow to rule out anything to do with the throttle. Thank you
  16. Thank you. I’ll check this tomorrow!
  17. I’ll try that next time. Thanks. I’ve transported it a couple of miles before without an issue. The problem has only started as I’ve transported it a lot further recently, ironically, to get it serviced. So now I’m confused as to whether the problem has occurred as a result of something that’s happened at the garage or if it’s due to it being in the van for much longer.
  18. Interesting you mentioned the choke. The two times it’s happened up to now, the choke has been on. I’ll try starting it with the choke next time without transporting it anywhere to see if it revs higher than with the choke off, if it does infact rev higher with it on, it might be a combination of the choke and aerated fuel (due to transportation) in the carb that’s causing it to rev so high?
  19. Hi there. I’m pretty new to trials so this might be a silly question. After transporting the bike, at startup the bike revs uncontrollably for about 15 seconds and then sorts itself out. I make sure the fuel tap is OFF before transporting. What could be causing this? Thanks
