  1. Gas Gas Boy has a 16" front and 14" rear, personally id say thats for a bigger kiddy, 7-9 although the specs say 6 onwards. its a lot of bike to fall on you. i would take her to the nearest Oset dealer and have a go, if they are nice they should let you ride 3 or 4 times to see how she feels.
  2. it was from a friend so cash didnt change hands just did a fair swap for some bits in the garage. If she is 5 may be too big for a 12.5 a 16" is still a small bike and i saw on of those end on ebay yesterday for less than £600.
  3. Forks fitted to the chassis, note the factory carbon fibre spacer! Validating the electrics all work out of the bike. which they do! The potentiometer was always problematic so i decided to change it for a new and different OHM valued one, it didnt make any real difference to the adjustment range but hopfully it will stay in place and not move when the bike is knocked. I know i should be fitting lipos and a new controller etc but this was more a cosmetic rebuild for now, little one is only 3 and can ride it no problem but its a bit of fun not a serious competition weapon! camera has gone abit wonky Motor was working fine so i dont see a reason to mess with it, cleaned up and fitted with a new shock £9.99 ! taking shape! New headstem, more carbon spacers, pair of hong kong alloy handlebars for a £5! I added new Tektro levers as well they were £4 but had a 19mm diameter opening, i machined them out to 7/8 to fit the handlebars. They are tiny now and little hands should have no problem. New brakes but i they foul the mud guard so that will be coming off, its not needed anyway. Bit more to be done but we are nearly there!
  4. Rebuild pics Gritbased and etch primed chassis and metal work, i aerosoled the paintwork to keep costs down, proper paint would have been better but with laquer its not a bad job at all and should last well. New forks from Oset spares, the old ones had collapsed and looked terrible, these were the biggest expense in the whole project! I replaced the head set with a cheap but nice looking chinese ebay special in anodised alu with sealed tapered roller bearings, The lower race was an interference fit on the forks so i used the top race cover to tap it down square. Fitting the new head race cups into the chassis, special tools can be improvised!
  5. Hi See attached pics from the recent strip down of my little ones OSET it was cheap due to being left in the rain being uncared for by its first owner. It worked fine which is a testament to the bikes reliability but it needed a restoration so rather than forking out the $$$ for a new 2015 model daddy hit ebay! Rebuild pics to follow!
  6. I've been eyeing up lots of new parts for little ones rusty old 12.5 ready for the big build. they have just put the prices right up, £69.99 now for a complete fork assembly up from £39.99 before xmas plus the postage of £7 or more. should have bought it all before xmas, cheers oset!
  7. this one looks hopeful hes ringing back tommorow to confirm the model year etc thanks!
