Hi, thinking about getting bigger tank for my 300 txt but wonder if it comes with tab etc and it's easy swap or I need to installs omething from the old one?

For the pre-23', look up the 2018 Gasgas Contact oem chassis parts list.  The tank "kit" costs $330 USD and adds about a liter, bringing the total capacity to 3.5L.  It includes the weather strip tape and adhesive heat shield.  New oem petcock is only another $10.  Use a fuel hose clamp (screw type/non-slotted) or oem crimp-on.  Swapping between tanks only takes a minute (1 screw).  There's even a no frills Contact tank sticker for an additional $30...

Actually you are wrong. You can engage it and still be at the top. That is what you need to get it to spin enough.

I'm always willing to learn.  Is that achieved by rolling it back in gear? Mine still always has a dead zone.  Regardless, maybe I just have a touch.  Consistent 1-kick starts.  Possibly 2-3 when sitting cold for a month or more; never a struggle.

It's more to do with the gear being engaged before kicking.

Yep.  It was only after watching friends spastically kick at my bike that I realized how this could happen.  The sound made me cringe...  DO NOT start you full speed kick from the vertical 12 o'clock position.  First, take up that 10-15* or so degrees of rotation until you feel engagement/pressure/resistance, then kick from this point.  Nothing to worry about if you follow this guideline.

    I own a 20' TXT250.
