  1. Sam...

I recently had to sort this one out myself...so here goes...

First I took everything off...you are left with 2 wire bundles coming from the stator cover...2 wires (with 1 connector) from the pick up coil (keep them as they are since they connect directly to the CDI box) and a second bundle with 5 wires (yellow, pink, white with yellow stripe, green with red stripe and black with red stripe) the only one you NEED is the black with red stripe (I simply tied back the others, but have seen them clipped at the case...).

Now...Black with red stripe goes to black with red band at CDI box, clip from pick up coil to clip from CDI box, black with white band to kill switch, coil connections stay as they are, green from CDI box to ground (earth for you guys...), green from kill switch to ground, and thats it!

If this has been too confusing, I could try to draw it out for you...

    Hope this helps...

Thanks for that. Hopefully it will become clearer once I actually start on the bike and see things for real!

  2. The bikes will run with out the lights battery ect , but I'm not 100% sure how you "de wire" it though.

Ps , If you ever want to sell the lighting system, mainly the front head lamp, pm me and we can sort something out.

    ;)

    Thanks for..........................???????????????????

  3. Hi, I have a standard Honda TLR 200 with all road going lights, ignition etc. I am want to remove all this to makes it abit more off road/ trials freindly.

Will the bike still run without the battery, ignition etc? Anyone know what i need to do to run without all this "gubbins"??

    Thanks Sam.

  4. Hello Sam, I have one. They are easy to work on but theplastics are sometimes difficult to come by. There are a few companies making aftermarket parts for them. I have a DEP exhaust on mine & Falcon Gas shocks. They can get up some surprising sections but of course you cant expect too much from them. I dont know what else you might want to know I have pulled mine to pieces & restored after servicing. It hasnt needed any internal engine work though so I havnt been involved in any of that. I am only equiped to deal with regular servicing, suspension, frame bearings & basic engine work so I cant really help with internals. I would give the engine to someone else if it needed rebuilding.

Thanks for the reply. At present mine is more or less standard, tank/seat, lights etc. The motor seems ok if a little "woolly" at the bottom end. Shocks also seem very soft, not sure what make they are. I am wanting to ditch all the road going bits and maybe get a one piece, (lighter) tank/seat unit. Priced one up at over
