  1. I found a down loadable manual for a TY175 at www.trialsport.com.au
  2. Dear all, can anyone give me a definitive answer as to what engine parts are the same, if any, between a TY175 (engine number is 525-2***** which is 1977 on) and a DT175 of approximately the same year? I need to strip my engine (it's burning the gearbox oil and so running like a dog) and I have been told by a couple of 'experts' that the 2 engines are identical but how can they be as they are intended for different uses? I accept some parts may be the same to keep production costs down but I don't want to buy any parts in the hope they may be the same. Also, who in England are the best people to deal with for TY parts? I don't necessarily mean the cheapest but the best quality parts and service? Thanks.
  3. Swooshdave, I mean how do I transfer a picture from my computer to this site, it would like to show off my bike with before and after pictures.
  4. Dear All, I am now the proud owner of what I am told is a Yamaha Whitehawk TY175 and as all newcomers to a sport have some questions. First is how do I know it is a Whitehawk, the seat/tank unit has a W embossed on the left side but how do I check/date the frame? The top tube is square and has some markings which read 83 YW SOxx xxx does this mean a 1983 Yamaha Whitehawk with what looks like a Southampton post code? The 1983 ties in with the engine number also being 1983. The first thing it needs is an air filter, where do I buy this and other spares from but the most important thing is where can I ride it? I want to spend as little as possible money on this but a meeting once a month with like minded people sounds appealing. One last question, how do I download a picture? Any advice etc will be most welcome.
