  1. The third pin doesn't do anything so you should be fine.. The other two pins are pos and neg.. they're what charges the bike. If it's still a concern, email or call Oset, their service is top rate!

Yes I can vouch for the top notch service from Oset. My charger was faulty and they supplied one F O C to me within a couple of days.

  2. Hi all,

Could anyone tell me how much these bikes are new??

I'd like to get one for my sons birthday in march and be good to have a idea of the cost?

What they go for second hand? not that I can find one anywhere.........

I bought my sons Oset 36volt of Graham Jarvis. If you do a search on google for his contact details I am sure he will be able to help you.

Like the other post shows, they are not a cheap piece of kit but, They are worth every penny as they don't intimidate the rider. My son is 4 and he loves his.

My next door neighbours son is 9 and he can wheelie it a little and he has only rode it 3 or 4 times max.

The one concern I had about the Oset was that my son has riding experience as he had a LT50 quad and a PW50 bike and I wondered how he would react to the silent power delivery.... He managed no problem.

I bought an extra set of batteries as well but the life on the fitted batteries is very good as long as its not running at full throttle for too long, I have slowed it down a bit now to give him more balance and I can get 1 and a half hours out of a set of batteries no problem.

  3. That's right, it was Simon and Daz who saw to me.

Pass my regards and thanks on to him next time you see him.

Only wish the hospital had been as efficient as the Paramedics and the staff in A& E.

Hopefully should not need the helicopter again whilst trialing.....But you never know.

    Regards

    Tommy

I will do, He lives opposite me so I see him quite abit.

Where did the accident happen ? I thought looking at the programme, somewhere on Colsterdale moor ?

I remember a large-ish drop on the trail where I nearly went over the handle bars myself.

  4. Hi Paul, accident happened just above Scar House Res.

Involved helicopter and a bloody cameraman from the BBC.

My incident was featured in the series Helicopter Heroes.

!5 minutes of fame I could have done without.

Seem to be well on the mend now though.

Managed a trip to Spain on the Triumph 2 up last August, and coincidentally set off on the anniversary of my'off'.

    Regards

    Tommy

I saw that on Helicopter Heroes this year, My neighbour is Simon, the paramedic that tended to your injuries (if I am thinking of the same accident). He flys with the Yorkshire air ambulance.

    Glad your doing ok now.

  5. Have you used an optimate to charge the batteries or do you charge them on the bike ? The reason why I ask is because I have bought a spare set of batteries for my sons Oset 16 (36 volt).

Also whats the score on the charging front as I didnt get a manual with mine due to it being a demo bike.

I have the 36 volt mains charger which has a red light on it whilst plugged in. Do I have to wait for this to turn green before the batteries are fuly charged ??

Or is it the lights on the throttle that turn green ??

    :D

  6. I have just bought my son an Oset 16 36volt today.... Watch youtube for footage after Father Christmas has delivered it to him.

Roll on December, I haven't been this excited since I was a child.

It looks a fantastic piece of kit, and I am sure that he will love it.
