  1. Well, why not ? I am and have been active on some other (not trail related) forums (national and international) and in that scene is normal to help each other. Files, pics, parts you name it. What goes around, comes around or what you give is what you get. Tried to upload the file on photobucket or such and display it here but that does not work with a pdf file. Give me you email adress (by PM or such) and I will send you the file.
  2. I am not so into computers (give me something without to much buttons but with gasoline burning engines ) but I managed to save it in a PDF file. On the right side of my screen is a little button, if you go over the button a text appears "Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file". Did that with every page, saved them and moved the pages into one long page and it is done I tried to save it with a html file but it does not work when the site is down.
  3. Well, it seems that the links are working again and Apexmotosport is back on the internet again.. First thing I did was save a copy to my HD and an extra copy on CD....you never know. You never know...already stored the parts list of the 4RT for maybe within a few years
  4. A while ago I found a online MOntesa parts book of the Montesa 315 as well as a owners manual: http://www.apexmotosports.com/montesa%20parts%20book/e-1.htm http://www.apexmotosports.com/content/mont...hnical-info.php I am sure most of you have seen and used these links. Now, these links seem to be not working anymore after 31 december 2008. I was working on a download of the parts book but only came to a few pages. Has someone a different link to a parts book of the Montesa 315 ? Or did someone maybe save a copy on his computer ? I would be very gratefull if I could get a (link to a) digital partsbook as I need some parts for my Montesa to complete a rebuild.
  5. Hi Guys, Just introduced myself: http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....mp;#entry185843 I noticed at more Montesa's 315 that the Kickstarter hits the right side of the frame after coming back from a start. That is bit annoying to me, not for the kickstarter, as that can be changed for a new one, but for the frame. I have seen Montesa with a real nasty mark on the frame. The sound is also a bit annoying. My kickstarter works perfectly with almost no play but I wanted to do something about it. I already changed the spring and steel ball in the kickstarter, with not much result. The easiest way to prevent the kickstarter hitting the frame is to pull a rubber tube over the kickstarter but that can get slippery and you can hurt yourself starting the engine. You can also choose for a few O-rings but I wanted something more durable. Here it goes: Take of the kickstarter, by removing the bolt. Disassemble the kickstarter by removing the screw and pulling the kickstarter out of the small piece. Before doing that wrap a cloth aroung the kickstarter flexing point, otherwise the little steel ball of the kickstarter could fly away and never to be found again. Clean the parts, always good for a trail bike. You need this piece of hardware 4 mm in Diameter about 5 mm long. They are available with a sharp point or just flat end. If you have one with a sharp point, grind it as you don't need the sharp point. We call it an "adjusting-screw with inside hexagon". Sorry, but I don't know the correct translation for it. Now you need to drill a hole of 3,5 mm into the kickstarter and tap some 4 mm screwthreads into your kickstarter. After that carefully smooth the end of the holes. At the picture below you can see where you have to drill and how it looks after you tapped the thread and screwed in the little "headless bolt". I have used loc-tite to prevent the headloss bolt of coming loose. I use "medium" for this as I want it to be possible to re-adjust this little bolt if neccessary. When assembling my kickstarter I have put a new rubbber gasket (green) into the kickstarter. Now assemble the kickstarter, put the steel ball into it, grease the joint, put it together and secure the bolt. Put the kickstarter onto the bike, you can adjust the clearance between kickstarter and frame by turning the wrench. If you screw "in" the gap between frame and kickstarter grows.
  6. Hi Guys, Let me introduce myself Luka is the name and living in the south of the Netherlands very close to Germany and Belgium. I always liked trail and trailbikes but when I was 18 I chose for HORSEPOWER and SPEED and ended up with the fastest machines around. Now I am somewhat older I have had it more or less with 300+ KM/h and drive a very nice 2001 Honda VFR 800 Fi, which I bought new and is still in "New Condition". A while ago I bought a 2001 Montesa 315 R. Like said, I always like trail and also like to fiddle around at my bikes, but my VFR is just so perfect..not much to fiddle around except for cleaning. Fiddling around on the Monty is a bit of therapy... Why a Monty..? It is Honda and I have always like Honda. I had the opportunity to buy this one or a 4 RT which was somewhat younger but also more expensive I also like the 2stroke engine and as I am a newbie in Trials I thought it would make more scence to start with something older and cheaper. I saw a Belgian guy training with an old Pre-65 BSA, magnificient what he could do with that old Lady. But I don't think I can do that with my 315R.......the bike isn't the problem..... I am a technical guy and daily working with technics. I have started to service the Monty but I think I will end up with rebuilding and modifying it. Not that it is in such a bad condition, but I like things to be checked, cleaned, greased, oiled, adjusted etc. My bikes have to be in good condition I have read some great stuff on this forum about the technics of the Monty. I hope I can add some valuable to these posts, preferably with pics as there are not so many pics on this forum.
