Hi - just picked up a 'barn find' TY175 with intent to have some fun tinkering and with a vague idea of refurbing and having a go at twinshock trials. I got given it by a work colleague and have been told its never been road registered. The engine and frame numbers match, frame and tank are badly corroded, engine has compression but I've not tried starting it as I want to strip it down and clean it / check it over first. I'll post up some before pics as well as any progress updates. I'll also be posting up queries so any advice gratefully received. Thanks, Mark

Hi - just picked up a 'barn find' TY175 which has a lot of surface corrosion. A local bodyshop run by a guy who rides and refurbs twin shock motocross bikes has recommended enamel as its harder wearing albeit a thin coat so it doesnt obscure the frame number. However I've also been recommended to powder coat it. I'll get the frame and bits and pieces shot blast first but wondered what the opinion was on powder coating versus enameling? Thanks, Mark
