Midi Dirt Bikes

well am i glad i joined this forum.

today has been full of mixed emotions.

i secured and payed for a swing arm for my ty - joy :)

however i was giving my sons` midi moto a wee service and found the front sprocket does not turn even with me on it and revving the a*** out of it.

i could get it to free off evey now and again and when it was free it seemed fine but in my trying i have now popped the tyre and inner tube - the tyre must be about 2mm thick

i am prepared for dogs abuse about buying a chinese import

i also dont know why it will only run with the choke out/on.

the build quality and parts are pretty cheap but it does the wee fella fine when its going. we just go up and down the forestry tracks and he loves it.

hes still too wee to go on my ty175 and i thought that this would at least get him a feel for dirt bikes and it was within my budget. however budget seems to be the operative word!

any spanner nuts out there?

please help me .

andy bone.

for the record

these mini motos and dirt bikes are basically rev and go

they share the same engines as strimmers

so if the engine revs but does not turn the front sprocket it has to be either

1 the gearbox

2 the clutch

in my case it was the latter

simply a spring had come loose on the clutch

- unfortunatley it go mangled so i have to buy a new one

the good thing though about these chinese imports is that

all the spare parts are as cheap as chips.

but i cant help to thinking i1m gonna need alot of them!

see ya now
