Probably been covered before but I cant find anything, I have been riding for years now but never rode on the road, what would I need to do to ride a road registered trials bike? What happens about lights, Inidcators and reg plate? also insurance? do i need direct access test?

I should think you could register your TL125 and ride that on L plates. You'd still need a Theory/CBT test to validate your provisional licence.

I live in a village and it would be handy for me to get a round to my mates and stuff, i was thinking more about a new beta or something :-) do i need to kit it out with horrid lights all over and a number plate?

Apart from the usual stuff, Full bike licence, insurance, Mot if applicable, lights if riding at night etc, etc,

Just a thought organisers of competitions have great problems organising these events that take place on public highways Police, land owners, the neighbourhood etc.

Problem being that the off road motorcycle draws more attention from the locals than a road bike, looks noise polution will draw this unwanted attention.

Maybe put the money towards getting your trials bike legal into gatting a cheap road bike to pop round your mates and save the off road bike for what it is intended.

yeah very true, ive got a ducati 748 in the garage which my dad rides if i pass i can use that :-) just getting to my mates there are loads of small lanes which cars cant get down, be fun on a trials bike.
