April 10, 200719 yr Does the 07 feel different then the 06 with the cam change!and does it start any better?
April 10, 200719 yr As no montesas are available in the uk, 06 or 07 (and haven't been for 8 weeks WHY???) the question is very academic but the 07 I understand is better.
April 10, 200719 yr 07 clutch is better, rear silencer is better (a bit quieter too). Cant really tell any difference on the cam personally. No difference with starting. There is a technique and tickover has not to be set too low. Starts better out of gear, starts in gear with Elf gearbox oil in! I think something went wrong with Dabsters font. Does it really need to be that big? Is he trying to make some sort of point?
April 10, 200719 yr I've changed from an 06 to 07. I ran a PTB (on a soft map) & a large clutch master cylinder on the 06 bike & after riding the 07 bike as Standard I find no need to fit these items. I've found the 07 bike to be soft low down but plently of grunt when needed, the clutch isn't grabby at all. I've found little difference in starting, perhaps the 07 will start more often in gear than the 06 did. Both bikes started similar from cold. The only thing I've found with the 07 bike is that if left for 10 minutes or so when hot it can be a bit awkward to start again.
April 10, 200719 yr Yes sold out in the UK, but available in Spain, can anyone explain??????????????????????????
April 10, 200719 yr A couple have appeared in the NE centre in the last few weeks, so why is the question academic?
April 10, 200719 yr holding back on the 07 4rt to see how the new Sherco 4t fairs up can you kindly explain the logic in that statement.
April 10, 200719 yr A couple have appeared in the NE centre in the last few weeks, so why is the question academic? guess they would be paralell imports then?
April 10, 200719 yr Mr Dabster what are you getting at ?, why would they have to be imports ? do you have somthing against the importer ?
April 10, 200719 yr guess they would be paralell imports then? Neither are mine so I can't confirm that. I'd doubt it though as the one I was looking at a fortnight ago came from an 'official' UK dealer (i.e. one who supplies bikes imported by Sandifords). Also, and perhaps more pertinently it'd been on order for a couple of months when it eventually turned up. Parallel imports of all makes can usually be obtained in 7-10 days. Parallel import or UK Concessionaire bike, I don't see why the question is academic unless you have reason to believe UK spec bikes are different to those sourced elsewhere in the EU. I recall the first TY engined Scorpas were supposed to be a different spec to the continental ones, at least according to the then official importer they were. Edited April 10, 200719 yr by GII
April 10, 200719 yr Sandyfords sold a huge amount of unsold 05's to Appelyards and I think now that Appelyards have sold the 80 or so new 05's, we will start to see the new models comin through Bought one of the new 05's myself ...... very little difference and a grand cheaper Mitani Clutch, thats the job done
April 11, 200719 yr Mr Dabsterwhat are you getting at ?, why would they have to be imports ? do you have somthing against the importer ? Sandifords have apparently been "unable" to get bikes for 8 weeks (2 months just before the scottish) and no dealers in the uk can get them, why is this? If you don't believe me phone your dealer.
