Can anyone refresh my memory about setting points on a 2 stroke, as i have'nt messed with points for about 15 years???

I used to have an old honda TL.The way i used to do it is remove the points cover and crank the engine till the cam in the points is under the moving part of the points,in efect, the fully open position.Measure the gap and adjust.

I think some bikes have points behind the flywheel,again crank the engine to TDC,and a slot in the flywheel should let you access the points for adjustment.
