Cracked Swing Arm At Linkage Pivot!

Featured Replies

Try adjustable reamer and pilot, like you would use to do old style kingpins on a truck, engineering shop or old school mechanics shop should be able to help you.

Thanks, I used a rotary flap disk and it reduced the high spots, now bearing fits perfectly. Will monitor it as you say.

I always thought the cracks were caused by neglect and bearing failure, rather than machining defect. The bearings require pressing out on all manufactures and are usually quite tight.

The s/arm pivots will weld just fine and as far as stress points go, there can’t be mega forces applied on those pivots or they would have snapped long ago.
