eiger
Can anyone tell me if a TY175 is the same engine/gearbox as a TY125 with a larger bore and piston, and is the con-rod the same? Thanks. Eiger. :madsanta:
johnnyboxer
TY175 and TY125 share the same engine/gearbox and from what I understand you can slide a 175 Barrel/head onto a 125,whilst fitting a larger 175 piston/small end also........so I figure conrod is the same........unless somebody knows different. bob abell
According to my Haynes book: stroke 50mm for both bore 56mm for 125 and 66mm for 175 primary ratio 74/19 for both transmission ratios the same final drive 37/17 for 125 and 51/13 for 175 Only lists side clearances for rod, not diameters so I can't see if the sizes are the same. eric23
As I understand it, the 175 engine was being used recently in one of Yamaha's quads. Our dealer in Phoenix has a number of parts in stock. Things like seals, clutch plates, gaskets etc.
