December 22, 200817 yr Has anyone ever used a non ty silencer on 74-77 ty ?? what was it? and did it work (what mods had to be done to make it fit ?) etc.. im having trouble finding a ty silencer here in the us, i could get a new aftermarket one , but im too cheap !! thats a last resort !! thanks cj
December 23, 200817 yr I've seen a TY with a shortened muffler from a Suzuki RG250 (1980s twin cylinder 250cc road bike) Any YZ/RM/KX/CR two stroke end muffler should work with mods to make it fit the TY. The main mods are to make the pipe the right shape to fit past the shockie and provide clearance for the tyre. Ideally get a muffler from a bike that has the pipe on the inside edge (when fitted on the RHS of the TY) to maximise tyre clearance.
December 23, 200817 yr You can try yamaha Dt 250/175 or 250 and 350 mono Ty,i guess they are easyer to get. Chrs:Mike
