October 14, 200421 yr Hoping you Scorpa enthusiast can help me out. Was wondering how the early Rotax machines were (are)? My 15 year old son wants to start trials riding with me. I have been offered a mint 97. Almost no hours on it. It looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. The price is hard to pass up. And you know how kids interest change like the wind so I didn't want to through big $$ at it until I'm sure he will actually stick with it. Any advice would be welcome.
October 14, 200421 yr I've got a '97 Easy that I bought 3 or 4 years ago, the only engine problem I've had was the internal water pump seal. If I forget to change the tranny oil, the clutch will be a little sticky when cold. Other than that, the only maintainance requirements have been typical of all bikes. If it just wasn't 20 lbs heavier than the new bikes I wouldn't be considering trading it off next year.
October 14, 200421 yr get him out on it! while your learning anything will do..and they were decent in 97 so they are now! and if it's nearly new, should be relliable! go for it!..you can soon upgrade next year...
