February 21, 200917 yr Just been out on my first ride on my 06 sy and its horrible to ride, firstly the suspension is very hard on the front, this may sound dumb but which way do i turn the knob on top of the suspension to soften it? clockwise or anti?? next the clutch lever doesnt return to the handlebar and the clutch action just feels notchy so any help on setting this up would be appreciated thanks
February 21, 200917 yr hi, to soften front foks turn the adjuster anti clockwise, check to see if the lever is pinched up to tight preventing it to operate smoothely within the perch, hope this helps. p.s. put atf in gearbox
March 26, 200917 yr Since it is a used bike, never assume the previous owner used the correct fluids. I know guys that come from MX and can't get used to the soft suspension and have put in heavier fork weight oil. I would change the oil and put in the correct weight and the correct amount. The clutch may be just as easy, replace the crank oil with the correct type and amount. Also, check the adjustment screws on the levers AND the one on the motor. Someone may have been screwing around and it may just be out of adjustment.
March 27, 200917 yr Check the operating arm on the clutch pivot (on top of the gear box) is ok. These can fail making the lever feel wrong.
