March 21, 200917 yr at the risk of sounding like a retard, is the air filter suposed to be right inside the airbox cause it doesnt fit snugly ! and should it be oiled?
March 21, 200917 yr The filter should be lightly oiled and fit snugly into the air box opening with a rubber oblong thing on top to hold the shape and seal the edges and then the cover screwed on top of that. Not meaning to imply you are daft or anything but the filter will only go in properly one way. Try turning it round 180 degrees? Other than that, is it the correct filter?
March 21, 200917 yr Author thanks mate, when i o..pened the airbox cover the filter was inside the airbox, loose. dont appear to have the rubber seal tho!
March 21, 200917 yr Author just looked at the parts book (apexmotosports) is the seal the "comp. band insulator" if so its listed as 01 on ,mines 99 fook sake!
March 22, 200917 yr Mines a 99 and has a rubber thingy, doesn't look like the one shown in the parts diagram though. Its just a rubber oblong that fits round the outside. If you've anything missing Sandifords will be able to sort you out off the shelf. Edited March 22, 200917 yr by tt5th
