January 1, 201016 yr Just getting to the point that i need new tyres. Been looking on web at Michelin x11s--IRCs---Pirelli mt43s. The prices vary from
January 1, 201016 yr IRC very popular, soft and great for winter in uk, summer can go for dunlop as good wear as stiffer but again most people tend to ride michelin. Stay away from cheap tires it costs you in long run mate Hope that helps you choose
January 1, 201016 yr Author Thanks for that cheap tyres are out !!! What price are the dunlops,do you get them mail order ? If so anychance of web-site.. Cheers Dave
January 1, 201016 yr I generally run Dunlops, and get 2 years out of a rear and god only knows how many years out of a front. This is not because I don't ride very often, it's just that I am very cheap and run my rear one direction the first year and then flip it for the second year. (I do notice a bit of loss of traction toward the end of the season though.)
January 1, 201016 yr She is mighty rounded at the end for sure. Was a little strapped for cash as I think this last rear has been on for 3 yrs. Like I said I am mighty cheap. But planning on new rear and front this year!!!!!!!!
January 3, 201016 yr I'm still on the original front Michelin from Mid 2005. A rear IRC lasts for about 20 trials than I turn it around and get a few more. Obviously this is less if it includes a few road trials.
January 4, 201016 yr Don't look so suprised Addict. you know full well that I'm a fat git and all the weight is on the back tyre!
January 4, 201016 yr Ive just nearly fallen off my chair at the fact that a tyre lasts 2 years! That is awesome! I know some tight sods but that is brilliant! I reckon one of the most neglected parts on a bike is definitely the front tyre. I have had 3 fronts on this last year and I have really notice a difference. I do ride every week though and do a fair bit of practise. Michelins seem to last the best in general on the front. I n winter on the rear I would say IRC's are best but then Michelins for spring onwards. Just my preference but I have tried all of them!
January 4, 201016 yr I do notice a difference between a new tire and my usual tires (Front and Rear) but unfortunately the new tire does not actually change how well I ride........................................
January 4, 201016 yr Here's a picture of the perished worn out mouldy old thing.... the tyre that is!
