my mate was stood talking to me today and revved his bike, and felt something go in the engine , he's got no compression now and the bike wouldn't start , any ideas guys ? am i right in thinking it's the piston rings? any advice would be great. regards mick

take the engine apart, my gasser ddii this, and it was the woodruf key in the flywheel, whcih affects all the timing, but i didnt loose all my compression.

I would certainly whip the head off first and have a look at whats happening down there. If you can twirl a spanner it wont take you long. Piston ring gone..not too bad...pistion holed/broke..a bit more expensive...complete crank failure...utter nightmare! Let us know how the story unfolds wont you?
