Removal of water pump casing

Featured Replies

As the hose at work is out of action I haven't been able to wash the bike today so am working from memory a bit.

I think all the screws on the casing can be removed but, as I want to renew the pump bearings, has anyone managed to remove the casing without dropping the sump guard - can it be wiggled past the rubber protection sandwiched between crankcase and sumpguard?

As the guard is now a lot more bent than it was when I last removed it I anticipate even more of a battle to get it back in position.

Thanks

You'll spend more time worrying about it then it will take to just drop the skidplate. Big 'ol channel locks work for me to get it all back together.
