:rotfl: hello chaps thanks for the help so far,

the engine has been refreshed with nice new oil , new plug and fresh coolant, carb cleaned and now starts, ticks over sweet as a nut first kick ......however....

CLUTCH IN FIRST GEAR SELECTED AND I END UP IN THE NEAREST WALL.......... :crying:

it seems despite having the clutch it makes no difference at all.. bled the clutch put fresh fluid in and checked for play in the lever, nothing makes any difference.

if you put it in say 6th gear and pull clutch in the wheel will not turn , it is as if no clutch at all?

any ideas??

gonna pull covers off tommorrow and look , also whats the best fluid to use? just normal brake fluid or gear oil?

regards Jon

just noticed that the master cylinder where the lid seals is leakinfg slightl when the lever pulled in , would this be casuing problems? although fluid seems to be coming out of the tube when bled? would it be just not enough pressure for the clutch plates with the leak?

regards jon

Jon,

Does the lever hit a hard spot before it meets the grip?

Jon,

hiya jon ,

no it doesnt it seems smooth all the way , bit of an update i ave taken the cover off as on the gas gas usa video and can see the basket moving when clutch pulled in.

i have taken out all the plates to check them and they seem of although not really sure what im looking for but nothing obvious ie non of the friction plates lost material etc however the first say 5 plates came out no problems loose and then the last few where all stuck together and really took some getting apart? doea that mea anything ?

checked the valve looing thing at the end of the push rod, seems ok and the ball bearing present.

when i pull the clutch in hte valve moves out approximatly 5mm which doesnt seem very much at all?

if thats not normal then problem surley at mster/slave cylinder end?

spoke with gas gas uk buxton they have slave cylinder kit which is cheap enough and could look at new master cylinder/lever ( do think this one not orginal and busted anyway)

also ngetting new seal around slave cylinder and new fresh brake fluid in master cylinder , just wanted to rule out basket side first , new plates about £70 inc vat ( thats the british robbery system jon ) sorry tax system...... :D

ALSO ANYONE HELP WHAT ARE THE TORQUE SETTINGS FOR THE CLUTCH BOLTS ( THE 6 ON THE CLUTCH BASKET )

any help appreciated , desperate to get out in the hills..

cheers jon
