Any News About The Ossa Explorer?

Featured Replies

Any news about the OSSA explorer in Europe? It wont be in North America until June. Just wondering if its out in Europe now, if any reviews, videos, etc.

I have seen the CAD renderings, a few of the photos from the OSSA site, the various magazine articles based on the product literature.

I am quite interested in this bike, as it is trials based, very light and they will try to make it street legal in north america.

Thanks

Beyond what has been posted on the OSSA websites, here is some info I got from the importer:

- same engine and geometry as the TR280i

- slightly stiffer suspension than TR280i

- higher footpegs than TR280i, but can be swapped

- same transmission ratio as TR280i

- heavier (of course)

- its not an enduro (obviously), but a "trail" bike.

Sound exactly what I want. Basically a street legal bike derived from a trials bike. Single track monster!

Anyone know when they'll be available in Europe? I would like to hear some first hand ride reports.

*sigh* I can't wait. So if a manufacturer says "May" they usually mean "end of May". Thats another six weeks of waiting for information...

  • 4 weeks later...

There is one being ridden in the SSDT this week, or at least a trials model with the tank seat mudguard assembly as on the picture above.

Should be Gabriel Reyes on a OSSA Explorer... Start number 15 – currently number 27 with 61 marks.

Any idea if they will make a retro fit like a long-ride kit?

I would say the OSSA explorer is already a "long ride" it has a seat and the tank capacity is 8,6 litres (the TR280i is 2,6 litres)

I just heard today that pre-production has just been finished and they are shipping the first bikes out to various countries for road registration. Can't wait to see it.

can anyone confirm the gears will be the same as 280? I was hoping they would be more evenly spread to make it more street and trail friendly.
