Other than the being lighter than stock steel footrests, do these have any other advantages over stock parts?

I only bought my replacement ones because I destroyed the original Sherco ones. The original's don't take much bending (or is it me). I'd straightened them a few times but they tended to bend every time I dropped them down a rock face

I've given these a fair battering now - and I'm roughly 120Kg

Bidding on some at the mo on ebay, looks like there going to go through the roof though so I give them a miss......checked out his website and the guys selling them
