March 3, 201412 yr Even if you do, I don't see how it can grease the bushes. If one is fitted (there is a pre-drilled hole in the swingarm) and you pump grease in, as far as I can tell, all it will do is fill the cavity in the middle of the tube between the two bushes. How can it actually get into the bush itself? Don't you need to modify the spindle with holes / grooves so that the grease can actually get between the bush / spindle - using new bolts possibly, that are drilled and have a grease nipple in the end, the bolt also has holes drilled cross-sectionally, so that when you pump the grease in, it can escape through the holes in the bolt, through the holes in the spindle and sit in the grooves which will keep the bush face with the spindle lubricated? Or something like that anyway...
March 4, 201412 yr Author Thank you Woody I was thinking something along those lines myself so no easy fix. I think it will have be dismantled occasionally to grease as normal. The small hole you mention in the spindle is to allow a bar to go through the hole on the cross tube into the spindle to prevent it rotating when being dismantled.
March 4, 201412 yr I have a few with grease nipples fitted to the swingrm, doesn't seem to have done much good though as the spindles were still seized in I think the problem is the spindle rusting and locking itself into the bushes I've just converted a swingarm to needle roller bearings with a grease nipple fitted, hopefully should be an improvement, I'll post some pics when I get chance..

March 6, 201412 yr Nice job, you ought to market that. Not a bad idea that woody Would have been an easy job but the tube had a slight bend in it (.2 - .3mm) from distortion from where the legs are welded to the tube, all sorted with a bit of straightening and re boring though
