I have a 2003 450 fse that has a faulty oil light, there is power to the sensor which seems to act as the earth, the light will not illuminate as normal with the ignition on. The fault seems to be the switch itself but I cannot locate one anywhere, the Spanish site does not list it either, it is at the back of the engine with a single wire attached. thats_a_five Posted March 6, 2014 Report Share Posted March 6, 2014 I have no specific knowledge of your bike, however, with only one wire to the switch, and only light (not a gauge) the sender is most likely an on/off switch. If you disconnect the wire from the switch and connect the wire directly to earth the light should come on (with the key on). Remove the wire from earth and the light should go off. I would suggest you find a GasGas dealer for the part. If no luck with the dealer, remove the switch and look for manufacturer info and part number then find a hydraulics parts distributor and take the switch with you. jacaldo Posted March 6, 2014 Author Report Share Posted March 6, 2014 Thanks for replying, Yes the light does come on as you described, the problem is my local supplier has never been asked for one of these switches and I cannot find one on the Spanish web site fiche. The switch itself is not the usual type, it passes through a banjo jointed oil feed pipe before going into the engine so the thread is much longer than normal??
