any ideas why occasionaly my crank case runner breather tube drips engine oil only slightly and occasionally

    Yes, oil splashing around the gearbox and a little gearbox pressure forcing a little into the tube

    It IS a breather and vent, if no excess, no issue.

    If you tip the bike in a crash, you may get more, and they may also find their own level if overfilled!

    Tube is best run up over the carb inlet then down to skidplate level. There are other reasons for this as well.
