February 11, 201511 yr Can anybody help me out with oil type & quantity for gearbox/clutch on a cota 172 76 model?
June 20, 201511 yr Just asked about this elsewhere mine is a Cota 200 I gathered the oil was common to both as there is only one drain plug ! I have a good supply of 5/30 would you be ok with using this kingscorpion ? Anyway thanks for confirming my thought about there only being one oil.
June 25, 201511 yr Sorry for the delay. I've been missing for some time. 5/30 can be an option. But it depends on the oil additives. Some of them will produce a slippery clutch. I've always used Motul Transoil 10w30. It has a specific formula for older engines.
June 25, 201511 yr Making a note of Motul Transoil Ive decided to replace crankshaft oil seals the engine is a bit smokey since using 5w/30 mainly cause there was hardly any oil in the motor !! So will revert to 10w/30 Thanks.
