2004 290 For Springs Worn?

Featured Replies

Hey all,got into trials this past summer and am lovin it.Ive got an 04' 290 and im thinking the fork springs might be worn out a bit.Im saying this because im having a real hard time hopping the front and rear on this bike.Ive tried a 2015 290 and although i wasnt great ,it seemed easier to hop and the forks seemed a lot "springier"

The local sherco dealer mentioned that it could either be the oil weight(i put in 5w) or the springs could ahve compressed from years of compression.

Whats your take?

The new bikes move much better than the `04 ever did. You can and should replace the spring. But hopping is all about timing, have someone that can hop try your bike first.
