I use tie down straps not the ratchet type to secure my bike to the trailer. You must fasten down both ends of the bike though no matter what type you use so that if you brake sharply nothing slackens off.

    Back from a great afternoon, learnt a lot.
    2 riders were good enough to spend some time with me
    got better as the day went on. tired out now though, I need a cold cider for sure.
