hi, just taken my carb off for a clean and noticed theres no plastic pipe coming off the lowest brass overflow outlet (float bowl). is there supposed to be and if so is there a certain length it needs to be?

Usually just to direct overflow to back of cases. If it's missing there shouldn't be any issues unless you spend a lot of time in deep water. Since it won't siphon  like the vent lines length is not an issue.
