Kehin Carb Problems

Featured Replies

i have just put a kehin carb on my gasgas 125 and it seems to feel as if the bike is cold on low revs and if i leave it tick over then it starts to die slowly.

anyone know what could be wrong?

cheers,lloyd B)

What do you mean by it feels cold on low revs, I don't understand. If you mean it lost some of it low end power then thats probably normal as your putting a larger carb on.

What jets are you using?

More info required.

the jets i have in the carb are 50 pilot and 118 main. i have been told by many people that these are the correct ones.

wat i mean by it feels like its cold is that if i just rev the throttle about 1/4 of the way it will sound like its just dying like.

I'm no carb expert at all but the pilot controls fuel mix to 1/4 throttle then main jet takes over with the slide affecting mixture. There should be a number on it 31/2 or 4?

Hi Lloyd, Just like to add a couple of other seemingly obvious things that people get wrong. 1 Check the tank breather is fitted the right way round i.e. letting air into the tank and working ok. " Check the rubber flap is fitted UNDER the tank, not obstructing the airbox apperture. 3 Some later model bikes have a homologation restrictor in the mouth of the airbox, remove it but leave the clear filter roof in place.4 Clean the tank out properly a few times and clean the tap and filter.5 If you have a late model bike with the switchable ignition and no switch fitted simply plug the two wires together that come out of the cdi. (orange and black). The switch in sunshine ( racing ) mode effectively does this for you. Get GASSING!!
