Floating disc, does it move on the bobbins?

Lift front wheel clear of ground, second person spins wheel and looks to see if disc appears to wobble. This may be very slight, but any disc movement will be translated back through the hydraulics to the brake lever. Brake judder/ shudder caused by warped/ buckled disc, incorrect caliper to fork leg assembly, sticking brake pads causes binding. If bike is brand new, don’t beat about the bush get it back to the selling dealer. Haven’t dropped bike so the it has landed in a way to hit disc?

Can only be buckled disc, sticking pads or caliper.

Use your Honda Warranty, they will fix you up

If it’s brand new it could have sat for some time with the pads in one position on the rotor.

But first thing is to lift the wheel and eyeball it for true as noted above. If it’s true, It’s twue! It’s twue! Sorry, Blazing Saddles just popped into my brain.

With clean dry hands feel the surface of the disk for rough spots. Careful though as new parts can be sharp. If it is a holdover from sitting too long you can probably just ride it until the rotor wears in. Otherwise dress very lightly with super fine emory cloth.

It’s also possible some numpty sprayed something on the rotor while cleaning or polishing the bike contaminating it except where the pads were. Brake cleaner and some riding will usually fix that.

 Crap brakes like everyone else. I threw away my brake techs and use the ajp`s off a 2005 4rt.

braketech are good now. dont see how seized caliper or sticking pads would transmit wobble?

warped disc or bobbins not right somehow making the disc out of shape.

as above spin on a box then look deeper.

So they were fixed at what month?

 

@these are on the 4 ride which has a different fork and caliper i believe. All the trials manufacturers models have these now so if it was a current 2018 model defect we would know about it? Certainly the original fault of hydraulic problems have gone away.

@scratcher did you sort this? What was it?

.yea my buddy took it back to dealership...he was one month outa warranty..but they changed the disc n pads......free...mickey oates glasgow..well done eh...
