July 6, 20197 yr Hi All, Hoping someone can help... I have a 1978 TY250, but it's very flat when accelerating from the bottom. I have taken the flywheel weight off and that made a difference, but it's still quite flat and needs livening up. Any suggestions? Many thanks.
July 6, 20197 yr Either a blocked exhaust or its worn out.Don't expect it to be like a modern Gas Gas, but if they are in good shape they are fine,plenty of power for twinshock trials.
July 7, 20197 yr Timing and carb. , a 78 should be equipped with a Mikuni carb normally reliable, but if it's worn out it can mean trouble. I run my B model with the carb a LITTLE on the lean side, I insist little. from memory I setup the timing at 3.2mm BTD. Also I ran for a long time with a 0.005 inch tick head gasket, now back to original. And follow JohnV8 advise Guy
