January 31, 20233 yr Hiya, I have a 1997 250 Scorpa with a weak intermittent spark. From what can gather the stator on these motors is a weak point. I'm getting readings of 200ohm between the white wire and earth and 789ohm between the red wire and earth, trouble is I don't know what the readings are supposed to be. Can some kind soul please tell me the correct readings? Thanks. Edited January 31, 20233 yr by Angelwing

Anyroad, I sent the stator off to Westcountry Windings for testing, they passed it fit for service, so the readings I quoted are correct. The fault was in the high tension coil which I found on eBay courtesy of MXtrial, who responded to messages quickly and was very helpful, unlike the denizens of this forum. . . jd Edited February 19, 20233 yr by Angelwing
February 19, 20233 yr Well, you are asking about a 26 year old bike and the odds that someone else that HAS that same one AND knows the values you asked about are very, very low. Much newer and much more common one would have fairly quick answers. Sorry (and you probably don't want to hear this anyway). Joe
