is there a factory set for float height on m y 76 350 Sherpa , at the moment it is reluctent to start , takes 3 /4 kicks with choke on

all jets pilot /main are clean  , passage ways are clear , fuel filter is new , needle is set in the middle groove ,pilot is screwed out 1 1/2 turn

once it starts it runs normally right through the rev range ,

Get it started up and get the bike warm/hot. Then get a small flat blade screwdriver and just set the idle so the bike is idling okay. Then move the airscrew until you find the highest idle point. That is the correct airscrew position for your bike. Make sure it will accelerate fine with no hesitation or sluginess. This is the best way to set your airscrew. Every engine is different so tune your engine how it likes to be.

Hi thanks for the reply BL  engine is just  rebuilt with new piston /rings/small ends/gudgen pin     rebored to 84mm carb/jets are all clean/clear

I took the floatbowl off   "one more time"   to discover one float has completley disintergrated into many small pieces floating around within the bowl

carb is original I think from 1976 Bing 84      also ordered new float ass. new jets pilot/main/needle from Inmotion

so waiting for post to arrive then will report hopefully just some fine tuning  on the pilot as you said       watch this space
