WIX-ONE
Being new to trials bikes and coming from mountain bike background, how is best to set up the rear shock for my weight? At the minute it feels quite wallowy, should it have more rebound and is it a case of adjusting or buying a new spring for my weight (will any make of spring do or are they manufacturer dependent?) Tr1AL
@WIX-ONE You will have to buy a spring specifically made for your shock in the majority of cases .After market springs to fit some manufacturers shocks are available from JITSIE.COM. Go to splatshop.co.uk and search in suspension under performance parts if you look at ohlins shocks you will find a chart that gives you the right type spring for rider weight. I think EM uses OLLE produced R16V rear shocks so OLLE SUSPENSIONS website is maybe where you need too look if thats what is on your bike. konrad
These spring rates are suggested by EM for the FACTOR-e, but they would be appropriate rates for the Race as well: https://www.electricmotiontech.com/home/em-factor-e/suspension Trials bikes require considerably less rebound damping than other forms of motorsports. Some information about the Tech forks here: https://www.electricmotiontech.com/home/em-epure-race/mechanicals/tech-39mm-forks
WIX-ONE
Nice one thanks guys From what i read i'm on the upper limit of the stock spring as they are rated 70 - 85kgs so i'll have a look at swapping that out rather than stopping eating biscuits.
