I need a new pack for my 04 but i'm sure i read that the 06 clutches were less fussy about the width of the pack and gave less noise. Thanks in advance, Roy. wiltshire_boy Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Share Posted April 10, 2006 Ah! That's a bugger. I found the quote on the TMX bike test:- "Thicker clutch diaphram spring. The new spring (from 1.5mm to 1.7mm) allows more wear tolerance of the clutch plates without it slipping. Clutch pack height is now not quite as important as before." Guest Posted April 12, 2006 Report Share Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) Extreme thirsty Well this is my first change of a clutch on a bike with a hydralic activated clutch. The local dealer told me that the water need to get of and that I don't need to take the clutch fluid out. My bike is a TXT280 from 05. So I don't need to empty the bike for water and clutch oil? Reading on this topic it seems that everybody has problems with the clutch fluid when they change the clutch... why? if they don't need to empty the bike for clutch fluid.
