Hello.

Over 50 years ago I used to watch a guy wash off his montesa cota 247 and thought it was the prettiest bike I’d seen.

I now have a 1971 mk cota which I want to rebuild to factory.

However what I have is like triggers broom a mismatch of parts from various years and models so it could be a challenge.

I’m hoping this resource might help me.

I would suggest moving the kick start lever back to the original vertical position.

The moving of the lever more clockwise to give more purchase always ended in disaster as there is a stop built in to the kick start shaft which eventually punched a hole through the crankcase.

Hi thank you. But that engine is coming out as I have the original to replace it. I also have another spare engine. I need original forks for it though if you know of any?
