Sherco Running Backwards?

took the kids sherco out of the shed yesterday and started it up.kicked it in gear and the dang thing ran backwords.i have heard of this problem on the bultacos in the 70s but what gives?you would think they would have fixed this glitch over the last 35 years or so :beer:

The problem with the old Bultacos running backwards was due to the timing being set wrong.

Yep had the same problem with the Bulto's bit embaressing when you are all ready for setting off in the section....................only to let the clutch out and reverse into the queue of riders :beer:
If you can't beat em......get stickier tyres!!

if i remember from acouple of earlier threads it sounds like a key on the crank has sheared and the timing has slipped.. good luck..

Hi,try looking this topic in the sherco forum,it was definitely posted and discussed earlier this year.I think the outcome was a new stator if my memory serves

It happened to me, as well as slightly bending the kick start. Played around with the stator but that didn't cure the problem. Woodruff key was ok as everything else. So I put a new stator in. That fixed it.
