    Jtx200

Hello,I have just bought my son as a project a jtx20,it had been stored for years ! Bike was locked solid so he removed the barrel,to find the engine full of congealed old fuel, and after some work it spun over perfectly. Problem is that after all his work the bike desperately needs a set of rings, and this is where we have hit a dead end. GASGAS dont sell them any more! Where do get replacement rings from?
  2. Hi just been reading your tread with interest am currently building a Jtx 200 and need a sa barrel and piston assembly. I run lots of small two stroke tool and had a sthil chainsaw that was blowing plugs all the time. This turned out to be debris in the case not allowing cool air to the head, and them getting far to hot.Have you checked that you have coolant in the cylinder head? On my sons gasgas there is a bleed nut on the top to vent the air. John
  3. Hi I looking for a barrel and piston for a gas gas jtx 200, don is rebuilding the engine and having trouble getting the parts.
  4. ive noticed that the shaft that the kick start is attached to is coming out of the casing as its kicked over. you can move it in and out by 15mm or 1/2 in depending on how old you are. could this all be the spring causing this?
  5. Thanks , ive only experienced this sort of problem on older bikes when the spring or the starter gear are worn. When you say they are like it from new,and have the same engine designer as the Ossa, i have an 2011 ossa and that has never slipped once, and doesnt want to start as sometimes the little rascal can be a bugger to start.
  6. I've been offered a gas gas 300pro ,but sometimes the kick start appears to slip ? What could cause this ? Any thoughts would be great to hear .thanks
  7. thanks i think i will call the tuning company in your link and ask there opinion as i know it makes a difference how the engine is tuned .ie for a road bike, racing or in this case trials. There seem to be so many variations .
  8. thanks for the reply but the carb i have is fixes with no screw in jets as far as i know. there are no mixture screws either .
  9. My son has a Clipic 50 trials with what is thought to be a minori( this is probable spelt wrong)engine. I have changed the barrel for an 80cc barrel and piston and it has given it more power. I had trouble originally getting it out of 1st gear before but now 2nd is a usable gear but still very underpowered , im looking at upgrading the carb but not sure what to look for. Any help would be great thanks.
