  1. I just did what I am pretty sure would be the World Record for a vertical hop, feel free to prove me wrong The obstacle is very simple to recreate: (if anyone is crazy enough to attempt this) Go in "Decorations" in the editor menu and choose the blue electric box. Turn it upside down, and put it on the ground while physics are enabled so you are sure it is perfectly hugging the ground. That is all, it took me about 90 minutes to pull it off, I don't think I can beat this... let's see
  2. Thanks Biff, I would add you to my list, but it's full for now, I will, however, clean some friends in the near future and allow many new friends to come, and I'll do this every now and then. I'll announce when I take new friends in my "QcChopper's insane creations" thread on Redlynx forums. This way, I can get more tracks, and more users can get mine.
  3. Thanks for the kind words smudger984, I am looking forward to see you on the game's online leaderboards and forums. As for the video, keep in mind that it's of Trials 2 SE for PC, and Trials HD (only for XBOX 360) is better at every aspect of the game. I have other videos of technical tracks in Trials 2 SE too, just look at my other youtube videos if you wish to see some more. As for the harsh comments, it's ok for many reasons. I knew before coming here that this community would be much more knowledgeable about trials riding than video games and I take this with a grain of salt. My belief was that a game that requires skill, finesse, timing, precision and balance while riding a trials bike through some crazy obstacles would find a niche here, but of course, not everybody will like it, some probably won't even give it a chance. There's also the fact that all of this is speculation until we get to play the game so things could change after the release date too. Anyway, the perfect trials game, if it existed, would be a total flop and most likely wouldn't sell enough to cover one tenth of the developers expenses. Basic knowledge in gaming demographics, 25 years of gaming and working on two independant games has told me this: it's a pipe dream. I don't see the goal of making such a game if there isn't the target public in place to make it viable. That's why the trials mode in Moto Racer 3 was just a small part of the game, if the entire game was about trials, let's be honest, it would not have sold much at all, and I don't say that to put it down, there's just no market for this type of game. But I am glad that some of you are excited about this game and have already registered on Trials HD's forums. Hope I see more of you guys there, and on the game's leaderboards of course!
  4. Most bikes in Trials HD don't have any front fenders at all. You probably saw one of the MX bikes. Those are only for beginner tracks, which are very easy and fast so that the novice players can get the basic controls. It's a demographic thing like I explained earlier. Being a pro trials rider yourself, it is very hard to understand how hard this game is for the uninitiated player. The first Redlynx Trials game was based on realism and looked more like a real indoor trials competition. Redlynx had to deal with some criticism because the average player couldn't beat most of the tracks. Trials HD relies on the same control mechanics that made this game a success in the first place, although it has evolved in the physics department. About the sick airtime and flips: this is not meant to be a simulator and never claimed to be one. It's a common practice in the gaming inustry to push the limits further than in real life. There are a lot of tracks that don't have fast segments and are composed of technical obstacles. Oh and don't forget the level editor, with it you can create anything you want, the entire game was built using the same tool. This, IMO, qualifies as a 2D ARCADE Trials game. (sry no sound) Yeah the track is insanely over the top, it was meant to be and requested by a handful of hardcore trials gamers, 98.75% of players can't see the finish line. 990 out of 79565 players passed this track, half of which had more than 88 faults on their best run, even though they have unlimited tries..It is, arguably, the hardest track in the entire game. I had to show the other extreme of the medal, because often, the footage seen in videos show the other extreme, which are fast and simple tracks with big jumps that cater more to the casual gamer, but there's plenty of stuff in between, but it definitely is a trials games, and yes it has some non-trials tracks as well.
  5. I totally get what you are saying, I love games that involves physics and balancing things. I liked the trials mode in Moto Racer 3 very much, but I grew bored of it very quickly. Had it offered physics and a sense of balance, I'd still be playing this today. I have played around 250 hours of Trails 2 SE on the PC (+ countless hours on old flash versions) and I just can't get tired of this, ever, EVER. But don't let the arcady look of the game fool you though, the controls are really technical and ultra precise, this is truly a game of skill. Maybe some of you real observed trials rider will find the control scheme oversimplified (throttle, brake, lean left, lean right) but while it is extremely easy to learn, it's incredibly hard to master. Trials 2 SE is, IMO, one of the (on the hard levels) hardest, most grueling, fiendish, excruciating games you'll ever get to play, and it'll have you come back for more if you're anything like me. I would not expect from a real trial rider to let some crappy video game obstacles stand between him and the next checkpoint EDIT: I posted my reply before your edit. I totally agree, and I would be one of the first to jump rear wheel first into that game, but I think it's target demographic is really small, almost nonexistent outside of Europe and Australia. I think the game would suffer the same fate as the PC 4x4 rock crawling game, Motorm4x. It's a really well done game that caters to a specific type of gamer. It never took off, despite being the game that actually deliver the most realistic 4x4 rock crawling experience IMO. I do believe that the same thing would happen with a real observed trials game and that's a shame, but I don't mind to much because in 1 week, I get to play Trials HD and hopefully, this game will be popular enough so that Redlynx gets the funding to make even better games.
  6. Hi guys, The guys at Redlynx are glad that this community found out about their game and I was sent here by Redlynx's artistic director Antti Ilvessuo to give you guys info on the game and see what real trials riders think of it. Here are the official forums for Trials HD (XBOX 360 live arcade) and Trials 2 SE (PC), come here if you want more up to date info or speak with the game creators themselves. (They always answer questions and would like your feedback as well) This is a great community with plenty of passionate fans. http://www.redlynxtrials.com/forum/index.php Here are the 4 trailers for Trials HD, more coming very soon! Overview trailer: Emotional trailer: Gameplay trailer: Level Editor trailer: Level Editor in action: http://www.atomicgamer.com/file.php?id=79919 Here is the full features list of Trials HD: http://www.redlynxtrials.com/forum/viewtop...f=28&t=1553 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you probably see, Trials HD has some pretty over-the-top crazy arcade levels, but rest assured, the physics model is very accurate and incredibly detailed. When they first created the forums, the guys @ Redlynx received feedback from fans that the Trials games were much too hard while a handful of other hardcore fans like myself were asking for more incredibly challenging tracks, so there are 2 schools of thought about this game, and Redlynx tried to make everybody happy with a good quantity of easy and fast paced tracks, but they still make some hardcore technical mayhem tracks and plenty of tracks in-between. Don't forget the level editor included, this tool was the tool used by the developers to make all the tracks in the game so this is a real powerful tool to give the gamers that will expand the game's life tenfold. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those who don't have an XBOX or want to see the last game of the series for PC: Trials 2 SE is a great game that not many people know about, which is a shame. Here are some trailers for it and a free demo. (the demo tracks might be too easy for you guys though) Trailers: Demo: http://download.redlynxtrials.com/download...8_installer.exe ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @ SawToot: you are referring to the trials mode in Moto Racer 3, and while it was 3d, scripted moves (total absence of physics) made it very dull compared to the detailed physics engine that keeps getting better and better with each Redlynx Trials games of which Trials HD is the 7th. @GasGasben: X360 only. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The guys @ Redlynx and I (just a dedicated fan, I don't work for Redlynx) apreciate all consructive criticism, what do you guys think?
