  1. Hi to all that are riding, helping or just spectating. I'm riding the Scott trial this year and I was looking for pointers as to where the best places to go would be and how to get there for the people who support the riders with spare wheels etc in case of bad puncture issues. I don't know the course that well and there will be I'm sure some people that do and know where the best places to go to provide support so all or any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hi guys! I'm trying to find some oset clothing preferably blue for my 3 year old son plus some boots in child's 9 or 10. I was suprised I can't find anything at the rate children grow I thought there would be loads around. Anyway I'd appreciate any help Cheers Steve

    Swingarm Axle

Hi Guys, have a bit of a problem the swingarm axle seems to be massively seized in on my little bro's 06 125. The swingarm moves without the axle spinning so it seems to be seized inside the engine casing. The axle doesnt turn and even I've tried shocking the axle out with a powefull rivet gun whilst trying to turn at the same time. I don't see how it could be so seized in. Anyone have any ideas???
  5. I went to another trial last week 28 aug and when i started it, it was hunting again then i remembered that when i had it in for a service at a bike shop a couple of years ago the guy there did the fuel valve mod. Anyway it used to hunt when the tap was in the ON position but used to run fine in the RESERVE position so i've run it in the RESERVE position ever since then with no probs. (This is getting lengthy) At this trial 28 aug i put the tap in the RESERVE position at it ran fine until the 3rd lap where it started hunting again. After the trial I was going to strip the bike down after washing it then swap the carbs from my bro's bike but then noticed his was a PBHL 28 and mines a 26, not sure if this would make any difference, so didnt bother. My girlfriend said to start it up after I washed it to which i said "it would run the same and i'd still have to clean the carb and check for leaky seals" like copemech suggested. I started the bike and what would you know it was running fine left it running for about 15 mins and it was still running fine. I did another trial yesterday and it was still running fine so i've taken the view of if it aint broke dont fix it.
  6. Thanks copemech I guess I'll have to investigate the crankseals for leaking. Is this a hard job to do and/or expensive? Oh forgot to say I guess my bike would act the same with my bro's carb on just a quicker fault finding method if it is the crankshaft seals?
  7. The fuel filter seemed pretty clean it that got a blast out with the air line too when I had the carb stripped. what you thinking like?
  8. I took the jets out and stuck a pin through them then blew them out with the air line. Not put a clean air filter in so will have to try that. Would a bigger jet not help or is a 33 adequate? My bros got an 07 125 cabby i could try swapping the carbs over and try that. I did that last time I was fault finding when I had the snapped throttle cable guide tube issue. Its frustrating when i dont have the knowledge on how it all works properly. Thanks again everyone for your inputs id be a bit lost with ou you
  9. Hi all took carb off gave it a good clean out found its already running a 33 pilot jet! Put it back on the bike and it continues to run the same thats with the mixture screw turned out 3.5 turns. Runs ok with choke on but cant leave that on when riding. Any suggestions???
  10. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll split the carb and give it all a good clean out. Ive had this prob before but it turned out to be the angled throttle guide tube on top of the carb that was snapped. Its suprising how little things cause problems. If the cleaning doesnt work is it adviseable to get a different pilot jet??

    Pilot Jetting

Just a quickie how do you tell what pilot jet is in the carb. I was at a trial the other week and the bike sounded like it was hunting. To cut a long story short, someone there spotted this and adjusted the mixture srew about 3.5 turns from fully in and suggested i get a 33 pilot jet as id prob be running a 30. I just dont want to buy a 33 if i may already have one in. Oh the bikes an 04 250 sherco All help appreciated!!!
  12. Ah a bit more of a detailed explanation cheers copemech you seem to know your stuff. When I've done what you suggested I'll post back. You mentioned shortenening the vent tubes, does this include the tube going from one side of the carb to the other (the one with the slit in the bottom) would this be a breather pipe or is it a vent pipe?
  13. Thanks John! I'll do what you suggested and check for droplets. If there isnt any and it still runs iffy with cleaning jets with wire would you hae anymore ideas. I've noticed you are part of richmond club do you get over do do many trials for richmond?
  14. I guess I'll have to strip the carb again as well as using the fine wire. As to the water in the fuel is this easy to spot?
  15. Thanks for reply. I cleaned the carb with compressed air took everything apart and cleaned inside. the only thing I didn't take out were the idle screw and the mixture screw maybe I should do this.
