I got both trial bikes out today as the panther needed a good clean after being stuck in a bog on the last trial a few times. There is a few years between these bikes and the Montesa will be a bit different to throw around. I think the Panther weighs twice as much as the cota

  4. The plastic housing on the domino throttle assembly on my txt feels really cheap. I'd like to replace it with a aluminum/metal option if available?

Hi folks, Iv'e seen Montesa/Honda stats saying their 2022 260 weighs 73 kg, is that a real number? For comparison what is the real weight of say a Beta 2022 250? Just trying to work out exactly how much weight difference there really is between the Montesa and the 2 stroke equivalents

Does anyone have a recommendation for footpegs that are a bit back and down from stock? I've not been able to find anything that looked good without costing the earth, and I don't want to re-weld the mounts

After having a nice chat with SWMBO i managed to convince her that me buying a new ( old ) trials bike would be a good idea. I currently ride my 1936 trial Panther in my local clubs pre 57 series. But I fancy spreading my wheels a bit and doing some modern ( but still easy) trials. Plus I have just applied to join shilton club and it would be a good idea to have a newer bike to dick about on. So I'm looking at around 2010 bikes ( still cheap and there seem to be plenty about). So my question is Which to avoid. I don't intend and probably will never be able to ride up the side of buildings and do stuff like bunny hopping. Its more just for a nice bike to ride at my leisure…

Hi All I have just purchased a 2021 beta 250 and I was wondering what fuel to use, the manual confirms to use a high octane fuel. What is better to use unleaded or super unleaded? Thanks.

  13. Hi, I’ve recently started a complete restoration of a 1969 Dalesman and am looking for some help. the bike is now completely stripped, the first issue I’m dealing with is trying to find a replacement for the front fork tubes that are measuring up as 29mm and are 525mm long. Does anyone know if there are any alternative tubes that will fit ? Doesn’t seem to be a very common size thanks for your help

Does anyone know of a rebuild kit for 1994 Scorpa 295 carburetor? It's got a Dellorto carb, think it's the original, but I'm not sure. If the rebuild kit isn't available, can I get a different carb? I'm from New Jersey, USA. Thanks & Cheers!

Hi Guys. My lad has a OSET 24R he's coming up to 16, he did have a 2012 Beta Evo 125 but he found it quite aggressive, plus he could do with a right side kick start, he does suffer from hip pain sometimes. So basically he's had a go on my Beta Evo 250 and liked it, but to have a crack at trials he will need a 125. My question is - What is a good 125 with right side kick and smoother than the old Beta, or is a new Beta smoother and easier to kick! Cheers Mark

Hi. I've just bought my first trials bike to get started into clubman trials. I'd like to set up the suspension sag. I have previous experience with setting sag on mountain bike suspension, which is usually a percentage of the total travel. There is lots of information on the Internet for mountain bike suspension set up but I seem to be struggling to find any information specifically for trials bikes set up. Can anyone point me in the right direction of any information that might help me set up my suspension properly. Thanks.

  18. Hi all, I ride a vertigo DL 12 2021 and keep snapping the chain the middle of nowhere. As such, I'm looking to buy the strongest chain possible, which appears to be a RK chain. Unfortunately they don't do half links which a vertigo need (a 103 link chain). So I'm think about buying a new rear sprocket to fit a 104 link chain. I don't want to mess with how the bike rides, so does anyone know if changing the size of the rear sprocket makes much difference at all? And on the off chance, does anyone know what sprocket teeth count I'd need for a 104 link chain on a vertigo?

Well, I got to take the new (to me) 2020 200 Evo out today to Milton Buzzard practice ground. What a bike! It’s just lovely, the front end is as light as a feather and the power is pretty smooth. It’s a revelation compared to my Rev3. Already managed to bin it though! Promised myself to not try anything I’m not confident with, at least for the first couple of outings so I could avoid dropping it. But then, I went over a log, no more than probably 12” or so in diameter, misplaced my front wheel on landing and went down in a hole beside the track. Bike up in the air, bar end straight in the thigh on landing. Ouch! Big lump there now! And, when I picked the bike up, som…

I recently px'd a TLR 250 for an RTL. Went to Honda Classic Dating to get an age confirmation based on the VIN tag (fitted to the headstock with tamper proof rivets). The DVLA wanted a photo of the "stamped VIN number". Has anyone found such a number or could advise me where to look? The VIN on the plate is not acceptable Any help much appreciated. Thanks Andy. PS I have had a look but nothing obvious.
