I broke the lever lug off my front brake master cylinder at the weekend so I need a new master cylinder. Are AJP and Braktec the same thing? I thought they were different but I've seen them advertised as the same.

Congratulationns to Doug and Nicola on the birth of Alfie. I think you got the name Alfie... perfect. Wayne, Keanu or Ronan just wouldn't have had the right ring to it.

Updated and Edited. I've left in but struck out comments that I believe are unfair. Final conclusion - installer error. 50 hours ago (actually more like 40) I replaced my 350 hour old OEM Beta Evo linkage bearings with an All Balls kit. Suffice to say that you get what you pay for, or less. Today I pulled the linkage apart for a 50 hour service and found every roller in every bearing has lost an end guide tit. The resulting mess of debris and ground up metallic paste seized some bearings and badly wore others. What absolute rubbish! A total waste of time, effort and money. BUYER BEWARE! These things are totally unfit for purpose. Below is a ph…

April 27th 1979 a lad, or lass for that matter could buy a TMX news for 18p and catch up on what's happening in the world of trials, long way from getting the results and gossip as it happens on the internet, but a black and white TV was still common in most households. Well in this issue, you could buy a new Bult from your dealer for 879 quid including the dreaded vat. You got twice as much iron for your money, two shocks twice the fuel capacity and twice the weight of today's scoots, but not much else has changed. Two young lads were tops at Waterside. Bultaco mounted Steve Saunders won the fourth round of the ACU's trials championship, the 14 yr old trailing An…

The latest installment of the No Stop/Dynamic saga sees Sammy Miller writing in TMX. Sammy was British Champion for 11 consecutive years, he won over 1100 trials, he didn't believe in being second, he was dominant in British Trials for roughly 2 decades yet in the fairy tale world that is No Stop Land we are expected to believe that roughly 80 % of the 150 riders who turned up at events actually had a good chance of beating Sammy. I don't think so. Yet again we get the fairy tale that the Scottish and the Scott are only good because they are no stop. This is almost like expecting us to believe that if you are riding round some sh*tty ex brick works at a wednesday night …

Someone recently lent me a screwdriver at a trial but there wasn't really the chance to engage in conversation about where he got it - it was a 5mm Allen key with a screwdriver blade on the long end - a most useful thing to carry. I can't see anything like it on the net but does anyone know where these can be obtained? It didn't look home made, being chrome plated.

Can anyone recommend an anodiser that they've used, preferably Yorkshire area. I'll be making my own bashplate, chain adjusters etc etc, and would like them tarting up if the price isn't prohibitive. Any help appreciated Phil

The switch to ally frame trials bikes seems to of been reversed recently with round section tubular steel frames ala gasgas/ossa being the new trend. Are these latest steel frames lighter than ally or comparable weight but being more compact allow for a neater overall package. (or is it cost against weight saving) Inquisitive engineer in me asking the question

I’ve decided that I really don’t enjoy competitive observed trials riding... but love riding my trials bike. This dawned on me as I rode between sections at a competition today... Other than observed trials competitions what riding could I do with my bike?
