Finally approaching the point of trying to flash up my 240 Fantic that I have been patiently re-doing. Getting very excited to hear it run. Last things to do, are clean the carb completely, and put the new ring on , throttle cable, and put the rest of the engine back together. Hopefully try flashing it before the weekend is over!!

Surely no Spaniards* would ride otherwise the French riders would go on strike. *Particularly those who spat their dummies out last season when the odd Brit and Jap entered theirs

Hi All, I recently purchased an Aplilia Cimber 280R. The guy I bought it off said it had been lying for about 4 months and even though it started first or second kick hot or cold I decided a carb strip and clean could do no harm. Seems my ham fisted re-assembly bent the brass arms that close the petrol valve, meaning the petrol p**sed all over the place when I turned on the petcock and the bike now won't start for love or money..... It has a Dellorto PHBH26 carb in it and I was wondering A) what height should the float level be set at and, How do I measure float hight in the first place? As a recent fan returned to the sport I have been out every weekend, battling with the new bike, either pratising or competing in local events. I would like to thank Richmond DMC for their efforts so far this year on three exciting trials, Marske, Wensley and Reeth all of which proved formidable for a Clubman B rider trying to improve his standards. The organistaion and sections were formidable and everyone provided info on line, gear, etc all of which was invaluable to me. Any riders wanting to have a great day out and battle the great outdors, check out the next Richmond trial, you won't regret it!!!!

hi guys, just found out i've got posterior ligament damage on my knee, going in for anthroscopy ,anyone had this and still ride? he's told me they don't usually do anything surgical to repair it, but that's not filling me with confidence, are my biking days over? any information from people who have had it done would be gratefully recieved , cheers mick.

A Mate of mine had left a bike with me, to sell if possible while he was away. Yesterday afternoon a chap came and bought it and was quite pleased with the bike. I needed to send my engine off for repair. I went to the local shipping stores and they wanted about $125 USD to pack and ship the engine. Too much I thought so I made a shipping crate. Bolted in the engine and wrapped it with paste board box and it cost me only $67 USD to ship it. No comments on my welding abilities please.

on my bike i have swapped from castrol mtx top pj1 clutch tunner the pj1 is alot thicker i havent put it in thebike incase it buggers something up i just want to know what difference it will make

What can I say!! Bloody road salt has atackedthe bike BIG TIME, real pain in the a***!! Spoke's are rusting brake discs, frame!! Any tips for stopping it before it gets too far?

I guess this is asking a bit much for a Rover 200 but would buy any chance it be able to take a 2002 Beta 250 and a TY80. Read on a recent post about a rack Bernie Schreiber had for a corvette which was for two bikes.

Hi all, Just interested in knowing what grade I would ride if I was riding in another country: ie: In Australia my sections usually have up to 3 foot steps, very tight turns with minimal need for trick riding and no need for splats. (sorry for vagueness) What grades would this be in other countries. cheers ben_r downunder

Been trying to buy a Dave Cooper bike rack for past two days. The only contact numbers on their web site are a Tel/Fax number which is usually engaged, but otherwise goes straight to fax, and a mobile number which doesn't connect. I have text'd it but no reply yet. I'm stuck in the Isle of Man at the moment working (with no TMX to hand), does anybody know him, or have better contact numbers for him? Was looking to get hold of it for the weekend, but thats probably too late now. Not the end of the world, but would like to get it ordered as soon as I can. Cheers, Gaz

I'll keep this brief since I've asked far too many bearing-related questions here recently: How do I remove siezed upper linkage bearings (where the linkage connects to the swingarm) on a '99 GasGas 270TXT without a bearing press/puller? Is it possible? Would heat and perseverence work? They can't be drifted out 'cos the bearing is flush with the swingarm casting. Once again, I'm totally unworthy...

I went to an ACU training day today for National CofC and Stewards, run by John Collins. I've not met John before, but he was a breath of fresh air. The ACU get a good slagging whenever the opportunity arises (sometimes unfairly), so I thought I'd try and balance the books a little. Probably the first person I've met from the ACU who I would be happy to have represent me at any ACU meeting. It's good to know that someone with such a grip of reality is involved at the higher levels within the ACU. This is not to say that others aren't, but if you believed any of the negative press that the ACU receive, you may develop a tainted view. Good little days course anyway if a…

Ok, I'm sick of getting changed in the wind and rain whilst standing in my socks in the clarts and I'm not too impressed by the effect the salt on the roads is having on my already scruffy Sherco. I don't want a van and after the fun parking at Rookhope a couple of weeks ago 4WD would be nice. So, is it possible to fit a trials bike into the back of any of the lwb 4wd vehicles currently available in the UK? I'm thinking Landrover 110, LWB Trooper, or even the commercial version of the Discovery
